The remains of the historic narrow gauge railway right in the middle of the Rila Monastery forest will bring you back into the last century, while you experience the relaxing atmosphere of an old forest and the murmuring of the river Rila at the same time.
Description of the tour
We follow the rail steps of the old narrow gauge railway that connected the small town of Kocherinovo with the Rila Monastery in the past century and was a huge achievement in these times.
On the way, that follows the banks of the river Rila, we see some of the treasures of Rila Monastery Nature Park: The park forests, waters, animals and plants, and we get to know how the old railway changed the lives of people in the past and today.
