Hello, my name is Stoyan Hristov!

I was born in 1981 and grew up in the picturesque mountain village of Ribaritsa, where I learned the little local mountain trails, watched the birds and knew the animals.
I graduated in the town of Teteven with a degree in Forestry and Logging. My bachelor’s degree is Ecology and Environmental Protection at the University of Forestry in Sofia, and I graduated with a master’s degree in the same specialty at the Technical University of Gabrovo.

Over the years, I have been involved in a number of conservation and protection activities for individual plant and animal species. I am a member of two nature conservation NGO’s. Since 2005 I have been working in Central Balkan National Park.
I love nature and animals, and I am a non-professional ornithologist and photographer. My life and my work are in the village, and in my out-of-work time I take care and maintenance of our small family farm and the animals I raise there.
I have been accompanying specialized bird watching tourists in mountainous areas, have led groups of children in the nature, and have done a number of outdoor lessons about biodiversity and protected areas.

My obligatory accessories in my daily backpack are: binoculars, camera, flashlight, GPS, knife, raincoat, firelighter, water, rope, medication.
