The highlights of this tour
The picturesque and curious path, which starts with an information board in the centre of the village of Kolarovo, will lead you into the unknown and unique world of the Chestnut forest, full of interesting inhabitants.
During the pleasant walk along the thematic tourist route „Life of the Chestnut” you will have the opportunity to learn amusing facts about the plants and the animals dwelling in the chestnut forests.
You will become aware on how humans use the chestnut in their life and what everyone of us can do to preserve this nature gem.

The tour is of medium difficulty and is pleasant for walking.
Requirements
Good physical condition and good footwear are required, as well as a drinking water reserve for the whole tour duration, sun glasses, hats and sun lotion in summer.
Best season
The best seasons for the tour are spring, summer and autumn.
Start time
The best time for beginning the tour are before noon, in the summer at 9:00 hrs.
Starting/End point
Starting point is the center of the village Kolarovo. It is a circle tour and the end point is the same place.
Number of participants
Minimum 4, maximum 20 persons.

Useful hints
The starting point can be reached by car or bus from Petrich (13 km from Kolarovo). If you use the bus you need 10 minutes extra from the bus stop to starting point. There is a place along the road to park the cars.
In case of bigger groups (8 persons and more) the nature guide can provide a transport from the town and back at a small additional cost, but it is necessary to arrange and book this two weeks in advance at the latest.
