Rayna, Bogomil and Vasko presented a unique combination of culture and nature.
Bogomil explained really impressive historic information about the monasterys surroundings and his personal experience during his childhood there.
Rayna’s walk to Ivan Rilski`s hermitage, the chapel and all the other religious cultural spots around showed, that there are a lot more unique places of high cultural and artistic value around the monastery than tourists will usually see.
This gave an ideal link to Vasko’s newly prepared tour, following the old railway track through the woods.
Though covered by plants, nearly hidden, we clearly could see and follow the old railway track, and Vasko had astonishing facts to tell about the function and importance of this railway during the last century.
Additionally he made us “fly” over the small stream there, which was a funny experience.
Not to mention the rich fresh-made lunch we enjoyed at the camp site at the end of the tour!
